Cowboy Clinics & Equine-Assisted Activities
A structured catalog of Montana ranch experiences designed for healing, learning, and community impact. From Veteran-led programs to inclusive family workshops.
For Veterans
Empowering those who served through the wisdom of the ranch.
As a cornerstone of our Veteran Wellness Program, our Cowboy Clinics and Equine-Assisted Activities provide veterans with the opportunity to reconnect through meaningful, hands-on experiences in a supportive ranch environment. Led by experienced trainer Jodi Hedrick, participants learn authentic cowboy skills—including horseback riding, groundwork, roping, cattle handling, branding demonstrations, and livestock management—while building confidence, resilience, and practical life skills. Working alongside horses and participating in the daily rhythm of ranch life fosters teamwork, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of purpose, creating opportunities for connection with fellow veterans and the agricultural community. Whether participants are discovering a new passion or returning to a familiar way of life, our program offers a place to learn, grow, serve, and belong. No prior horse or ranch experience is required, and every participant is welcomed with respect, encouragement, and support.
For Families & Community

Community Workshops

Whether you're just beginning your homesteading journey or looking to expand your knowledge, our workshops offer practical education in a welcoming ranch setting. Throughout the year, participants can explore a variety of topics including gardening, livestock care, food preservation, horse and ranch skills, natural wellness products, heritage crafts, emergency preparedness, and seasonal homesteading practices. Every workshop emphasizes learning by doing, allowing participants to gain confidence and practical skills they can take home and apply in everyday life. More than just classes, our workshops foster community by connecting people with one another, the land, and the traditions that have sustained generations. Regenerative Farming
At the Heritage Highland Ranch, we believe that healthy land creates healthy animals, healthy food, and stronger communities. Our regenerative farming approach focuses on working with nature rather than against it by improving soil health, protecting water resources, encouraging biodiversity, and caring for the land for future generations.
